Every item on houseofviraj.com comes with a 7-day limited return policy. We take pride in the quality of our traditional attire, but if things don't go as planned, this policy outlines how we can make it right.
Mandatory unboxing video rule
To protect both our customers and our business from transit fraud, an unboxing video is strictly mandatory. If you're applying for a return or exchange due to a defective, damaged, or wrong item, you must record a clear, continuous and uninterrupted video of yourself opening the sealed package.
Receiving your parcel
To ensure a smooth delivery, please keep the following in mind:
- Refuse the package and return it to the delivery person if it looks tampered with or damaged before delivery
- Ensure someone is present at the delivery address for COD orders, between 11 AM and 6 PM — we can't guarantee a call ahead
- Make full payment before opening a COD packet
- Opening a COD packet before payment is complete
- Arguing with the delivery agent about what's inside — their role is only to hand over the package safely
- Tipping the delivery person — our courier partners are already compensated fairly
Initiating a return or exchange
If you face an issue with your order, please follow these steps:
- Contact us immediately — WhatsApp us at +91 97483 94022 and email support@houseofviraj.com with your Order ID and the specific issue.
- For a damaged, defective or incorrect item, contact us within 24 hours of receiving the package, with your unboxing video attached.
- Wait for authorisation — never self-ship an item back to us without prior approval, or no credit or replacement can be issued.
- Returned items must be unwashed, unworn, unaltered and securely packed in their original packaging with all tags intact, along with a copy of the original invoice.
- Once authorised, the product must be handed over or shipped back within 7 working days.
Return shipping method
We arrange free return pick-ups through our courier partners wherever possible. If our courier can't service your pin code, our authorisation email may ask you to send the item via registered airmail or courier instead — in that case, safe delivery back to us becomes your responsibility, and we won't be able to process a refund if the package is lost or damaged in transit.
Exchange policy
- You received a defective item
- You received the wrong item
- You've changed your mind about size or style
- Material complaints — fabric and quality details are clearly listed on every product page
- Damage caused at your location after successful delivery
- Requests made after the 7-day window has passed
- An order that has already used its one exchange
- Items discounted 25% or more, or "Buy X Get Y" promotional items — these are final sale
Shipping charges for authorised exchanges are completely free, though exchanges for the exact same design depend on stock availability. Please choose your replacement within 3 days of your original delivery.
Refund policy
Purchased products are typically not refundable, unless you received the wrong product or an item with severe manufacturing defects. To start a refund, email support@houseofviraj.com or call/WhatsApp +91 97483 94022 with your order details and unboxing video.
Only the item amount is refunded — shipping charges are non-refundable under any circumstances. Once we receive and inspect the returned product at our warehouse, approved refunds are initiated within 7 business days, credited back to your original payment method per standard banking timelines.
Colour, handwork & description disclaimer
We put great effort into accurately reproducing our products on houseofviraj.com, but given the nature of traditional ethnic wear, please keep the following in mind:
- Minor variations: weight, colour, handwork and size are approximate. Colour can shift slightly due to the fabric itself, the dyes used, weather during dyeing, photography lighting, and your own screen settings.
- Handicraft authenticity: hand-dyed and handcrafted pieces will always carry small irregularities. That raw finish is the true beauty of a handicraft, not something to compare against machine-made goods — it's proof of authenticity, not a defect.
- Embellishments: sequins, stones and bead decorations can come loose slightly even with careful handling, so please keep this in mind with heavily decorated garments.
